Monday Speedwork 5:30 pm*
Speed workouts sessions are held at the Highland High School (1700 E 2100 S) track. There is currently no entry from the Sugarhouse Park side, so the best entry will be via the lane leading from 2100 S between the Rose Garden and the tennis courts.
When the track is covered in snow, we run on the road in Sugarhouse park (meet at the Garden Center parking lot at the northeast corner of the park; the best way to get there is from 21st south after the main entrance, right before the Highland High School fenceline).

* Workouts will start at 9am on Memorial Day and Labor Day.
Thursday Morning Trail Runs
Satisfy your inner mountain goat!
This trail run will take place every Thursday morning at 6:30 am starting from various trailheads around the University/Avenues area. We are a dog-friendly group, so if Fido needs to get his miles in as well feel free to bring him along. You’ll notice below that the even days say “Off-leash day”. Those are off-leash dog free-for-all days. On odd days please either leave Fido at home, put Fido on a leash, or start 5 minutes before the rest of the group. (We’re trying this out as a way to keep everyone happy and safe on the trail.)
Keep in mind that weather impacts trail conditions and there may be mornings where we decide to run on the road. The appropriate gear can also make your sunrise trail run much more enjoyable:
- Good pair of trail running shoes
- Headlamp to light your path
- Yaktrax for snowy/icy trail conditions
We look forward to seeing you on the Salt Lake City Back Track!
