Mission Statement

The Salt Lake City Track Club has served the Salt Lake running community for nearly 40 years. We support the Salt Lake regional running community by organizing social running opportunities for runners of all abilities, giving back to the running community through donations and volunteerism, and offering high-quality racing opportunities through our winter races.

Social Running Opportunities

We welcome runners of all distances, from the mile to the marathon. We provide our members with four organized social running opportunities every week: speed work on Mondays, trail runs on Thursdays, road runs throughout the valley on Saturdays, and an informal 5-miler in Sugarhouse on Sundays. Several Saturday runs throughout the year are followed by member-hosted breakfasts. We treat our members to a complimentary dinner at our Fall Member Appreciation Banquet and Awards Ceremony and Summer Family Picnic. We provide members with race entry discounts for select races and discounts at several local running stores.

Community Engagement

We give back to our running community through donations and volunteerism. We donate money to local high school running programs, volunteer time and equipment at various races throughout the year, and encourage youth to appreciate the sport of running through our Making Strides program. Making Strides is a 5-week program hosted in partnership with a local, under-served elementary school that provides free running shoes, shirts, running-related instruction, and coaching. Participating youth work up to a timed mile on the last day of the program.

Winter Races

We organize several races every winter, starting with the Beat the New Year 5k: a Salt Lake City tradition. This family-friendly event takes place at 11:30PM at Sugarhouse Park. Our Winter Series takes place at the Great Saltair in Magna, UT and includes a 5k, 10k, and 15k, attracting recreational and elite runners from throughout the state. Several of the events are USATF certified.

Our activities are dedicated to promoting the welfare of the Salt Lake running community. Please join the SLCTC today!
